Our Mission

Our mission is: “Building People by Healing Hurts, Meeting Needs, and Building Dreams”

Our goal is to make disciples for Jesus Christ.

We desire to serve our communities by being a church

that offers practical, consistent opportunities to

grow, fellowship, and serve.

Baptism

The subject of water baptism has long been called a great issue and no doubt has been made such by many church leaders of the past and present. In our study of it, let us first consider its importance, or the necessity of being baptized.

Except Ye Repent

The three words of this title come from Luke 13:5, which reads, “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” Plainly, then, the tragic alternative to repentance is eternal perdition. In view of this fact, it is extremely important that everyone know what repentance is and how it is accomplished.

The Holy Ghost

The gift of the Holy Spirit has become the topic of much discussion in our day. Men and women of all persuasions and from all walks of life have become interested enough to search for greater understanding of this phenomenal spiritual experience. Capturing headlines, dominating the content of many religious periodicals, and generally creating excitement, this canon of apostolic faith deserves a sincere appraisal.

Pastor Michael L. Davis

Pastor Davis serves as lead pastor of Sulphur Springs First Church, alongside the help of his wife and two daughters. He responded to the call to the ministry at the age of 13, and continued to follow after God’s will and plan for his life. This led him to Texas Bible College where he met his wife, Darla, and graduated with a major in Theology. In 2001, he and his family moved to Graham, Texas to assume the role of pastor and continued there for 5 years. In December of 2005, the Davis family then moved to Rock Springs, Wyoming where he pastored for 8 years. In December of 2013 he was elected as Pastor of Sulphur Springs First Church. He and his family currently live in Sulphur Springs and devote their time to leading First Church. Our pastor believes that our relationship with Jesus is the most important aspect of living. Therefore, a church that is in relationship with Jesus will be a healthy and growing church.
