Meaning we are multi-ethnic, multi-generational, multi-campus, and multi-plying.
Our mission is to be a place to BEGIN, BELONG and to go BEYOND.
First Church is a place where anyone, from any demographic of life can BEGIN in God.
As life begins, we strive to be the family of God as we learn to BELONG to the Kingdom of God.
Through Biblical teaching, preaching, and the power of the Holy Spirit, we strive to go BEYOND ourselves into the things God has called us to.
The salvation message we preach is based upon the original salvation message, preached by the original church, in the book of Acts. “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

Welcome to First Church of Sulphur Springs, we would love the opportunity to connect with you in person, and hear more of your story. Here’s just a quick bit of our story.
In December of 2013 Pastor Michael and Darla Davis were called to Pastor first Church. Pastor and Sis Davis have 3 Children who have all married and had a part in the development of growth at first church. Pastor and Sis Davis have faithfully served the First Church Family with excellence since their election in 2013.
Through envisioning a great future for First Church, Pastor Davis began to pray over what the future would hold. While Pastor Davis wasn’t looking at immediate transition, he felt the need to secure the future of the church through bringing in the family that would succeed he and his precious wife.
In September of 2022 First Church elected Pastor Jared and Amanda Davis as Lead Pastor. Jared and Amanda have two beautiful children, Adylee and Kyson, who love being a part of the ministry with their mom and dad.
Pastor Davis and Pastor Jared, along with their wives, now lead the First Church family as a Co- Pastoral Team.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
First Church is a Bible-based church. We are Bible-based in that we seek to base all of our beliefs and our lifestyle on explicit passages of the Bible or on biblical principles. Based on Scripture, we believe the following . . .
About the Bible
The Bible is the infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living (2 Timothy 3:15-17).
About God
There is one God, who has revealed Himself as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man (Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 3:16).
About Sin and Salvation
Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9).
About the Gospel
The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel (2 Thessalonians 1:8; 1 Peter 4:17) by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection) (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4).
About Christian Living
As Christians we are to love God and others. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God joyfully. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today (Mark 12:28-31; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Corinthians 12:8-10).
About the Future
Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His church. In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11 15).
